A beauty I thought
So I brought it home
A bushy mandevilla
Bloomy with promises
We wrestled a bit
Before it brought me to heel
Had me snipping its leaves
Rewrapping its coils
Around a new obelisk
Even a shampoo for the carpet
After our tussle
But it's here now, sunning
Stretching to fill
Ochre Idyls
